Owner

Hal is the owner of Landers Insurance Agency LLC. He started his independent agency in Columbia TN in May 2002 from scratch. Prior to this he spent three years in Franklin, TN as the owner of a captive insurance agency. As a native of Maury County Hal always knew Columbia was where he wanted to have his agency. Throughout the past 19 years, Landers Insurance Agency has been awarded numerous company production awards in personal, commercial, and Life Insurance. “I am only as good as the people I have around me. I owe a great gratitude to the people that have helped me build my agency into what it is today” says Hal.

Outside of the daily operations of the insurance agency, Hal is involved with several men’s groups that help with community oriented projects. Hal enjoys living an active lifestyle that includes travelling and experiencing new places, going to the gym, and being outdoors as much as possible. He enjoys cooking meals for others and spending as much time as possible with friends and family. Hal has two beautiful daughters, Maggy Lynn and Farrar that are his passion and his strength.​

Director of Personnel Lines Sales & Service

Since joining Landers Insurance Agency in May 2019, Sandy has brought her deep expertise and caring spirit to every client interaction. As Director of Personal Lines, Sales & Service, she works closely with individuals and families to help them protect what matters most—whether it’s auto, home, or life.

Sandy’s roots in the Columbia and Maury County community run deep. Though she grew up around the world as the daughter of a retired U.S. Army Command Sergeant Major, she has proudly called Tennessee home since graduating from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Now a resident of Culleoka, she lives on her husband John’s family farm, where they’ve raised their two daughters, Lili and Larkin—both proud Columbia Central High School graduates.

Known affectionately in our office as the resident storyteller, Sandy weaves her global life experiences into every conversation. Her warmth, insight, and vivid anecdotes create genuine connections with both our team and the clients we serve.

With Sandy, insurance isn’t just business—it’s personal, grounded in trust, and always delivered with heart.

Personal Lines Associate

Dylan joined Landers Insurance Agency in January 2026, bringing three years of experience in the insurance industry. He specializes in personal lines and life insurance and looks forward to expanding his expertise into commercial lines as he continues to grow in the field.

Originally from Florida, Dylan moved to the Columbia area in 2014. He graduated from Hampshire Unit School in 2020 and became a Columbia homeowner in 2025. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time around the Columbia Square and staying active at the gym.

Personal Lines Assistant

Tonia joined Landers Insurance Agency in July 2019 and has become an essential part of our Personal Lines team. As a licensed Personal Lines Assistant, she plays a vital role in supporting both our clients and the success of our agency. Her focus is on helping clients with all aspects of their personal insurance—from policy updates and annual renewals to billing questions and general account support. A proud Columbia native, Tonia has raised two accomplished sons—one living his dream on the college football field and the other pursuing a career in law. Her deep roots in the community and dedication to service shine through in all she does. Tonia was also honored as Miss Black Maury County in 1989–1990, a title that reflects her poise and grace. Her warmth, attention to detail, and steadfast commitment make Tonia a valued member of the Landers Insurance family.

Sales & Service Representative
Bilingual CSR

Vanessa has been with our team since September 2018. Vanessa works with our non-standard carriers and specializes in hard to place automobile insurance. Vanessa brings multi culture to our team as she is bi-lingual and proudly services the Hispanic community. While with Landers Insurance, she studied and achieved her United States Citizenship. Vanessa and her husband live in Spring Hill with their 3 children. They enjoy watching their son play baseball and their daughters perform gymnastics.

Claims and Operations Manager

Since joining Landers Insurance Agency in May 2019, Susan has been an integral part of the team, ensuring exceptional service and efficiency for clients. Her role has evolved into that of Claims and Operations Manager, where she collaborates closely with clients and carriers to facilitate prompt and effective claims processing. In addition to overseeing claims, Susan manages agency operations, communication platforms, and social media, contributing to the agency’s overall strategic direction.

While her primary focus is operations and claims management, Susan continues to assist clients with personal and commercial insurance needs, showcasing her adaptability and dedication to delivering comprehensive coverage solutions. Outside of her professional endeavors, Susan and her husband, Scott, enjoy a vibrant family life, treasuring time with their seven children and fourteen grandchildren. She has also been an active member of the local “Mule” community, where she and her children proudly earned blue ribbons in gaited mule competitions during past Mule Day Celebrations.

Commercial Lines Associate

Lexy became part of the Landers Insurance Agency family in March 2022, bringing with her over five years of experience in the insurance industry. Specializing in both commercial and life insurance, Lexy is passionate about helping businesses and families find coverage that suits their unique needs. Since becoming licensed, she has built strong connections throughout Maury County and the surrounding areas, taking pride in supporting local businesses with personalized care and expert guidance.

Originally from Oregon, Lexy followed her heart to Tennessee immediately after graduating, drawn by her love for the Walking Horse Industry. She now calls Bedford County home, where she enjoys life with her three beautiful children. When she’s not serving her clients, you’ll find Lexy trail riding with friends, staying active at the gym, or cheering on her boys at the ballpark.

Lexy’s warm personality, dedication to her clients, and deep appreciation for the community make her an invaluable part of the Landers Insurance team.

Commercial Lines Assistant

Donna is a seasoned Commercial Lines licensed professional with a strong background in the insurance industry. A native of Columbia, Tennessee, Donna attended Columbia Central High School and Columbia State Community College. During her insurance career, Donna held various titles which included Senior Account Manager, Assistant Agency Manager, and Team Leader. After a successful career in the insurance industry, Donna returned to Columbia to enjoy retirement. Now, revived, and ready to re-engage, Donna returns to the insurance industry bringing a wealth of knowledge and expertise with her. She recently joined the Landers Insurance Agency, part-time, as a Commercial Lines Assistant with the Commercial Lines Sales and Service team. In her spare time, Donna enjoys traveling and sports. She is committed to contributing meaningfully to organizations that value integrity, innovation, and service.

Receptionist – Bilingual

Since joining Landers Insurance Agency in February 2025, Cynthia has been the welcoming face that greets every visitor and the friendly voice that answers your call. She brings warmth, professionalism, and genuine care to both Landers Insurance Agency and our sister agency, Affordable Auto Insurance.

As a proud bilingual mom, Cynthia often says, “I’m raising kids in two languages—and with twice the love.” Her multicultural background uniquely equips her to connect with and serve our diverse community, helping clients feel comfortable, understood, and truly at home from the moment they walk through the door. Whether she’s navigating the demands of motherhood or bridging two agencies with her warm personality and unwavering positivity, Cynthia is fueled by strong coffee, stronger hugs, and a deep belief in heartfelt conversations. She’s not just the receptionist—you’ll quickly find she’s the heart of our team.
